God is good because He is righteous. His ways are perfect (Psalm 18:30). In Matthew 19:17 Jesus says there is only one who is good, and He is referring to God. God’s will is good; His decisions are good; His acts toward us are good. Everything God does is good (Job 38:27). In spite of all the hardship and discomfort Job experienced, he remained confident in God’s goodness.
