There is only one true God existing eternally in three co-equal persons (the trinity): God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ was miraculously conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin mother. Although He was without sin, He was killed by crucifixtion on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins, but He rose from the dead three days later and now sits at the right hand of God as our great High Priest. We expect Him to return to gather His followers and establish His Kingdom on a new earth.
The Holy Spirit indwells believers and provides guidance and comfort, and empowers us for life and service. The Holy Spirit encourages and reminds of God's laws.
The bible is God's infallible, authoritative word which was penned by men through the holy spirit. The bible is the guidebook for living a Christian life and developing a relationship with God.
God has a great and everlasting love for us; it is God's will that no man should perish. Man was created in the image of God. The disobediance of Adam and Eve brought sin into the world and caused us all to be born into sin and to have a sinful nature.
Sin is disobedience to God's laws. The consequence for unrepentant sin is death and eternity in hell. A blood sacrifice is needed for atonement of sin. Sin is the cause of the evil works of man (greed, adultery, deceit, murder, pride, dishonesty, racism, abuse, covetness, cheating etc). We are saved from the penalty of sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. God is faithful to forgive us of our sin but we do not use this permission to be sinful; we pursue righteousness through grace.
Jesus Christ became our sacrifice to atone our sin when he died for us on the cross. His death gave us the gift of salvation. Salvation is freely available to all who acknowledge their sin, accept Christ as their savior and choose to their life for Him.
The church is the "body of Christ", which is composed of all Christian believers who are living their life according to God's laws and who have developed a relationship with Him. The church is commanded to assemble together, be unified, give generously for the support of the kingdom and fulfill the great commission.
Speaking in tongues is a heavenly language through the Holy Spirit which is used for direction, edification, and personal communication between yourself and God.
Baptism typically follows salvation and is symbolic of having a new life in Christ. It is demonstrative of having your sins washed away and being cleansed. It is a declaration of your commitment to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
Communion is a sacred ritual for believers to do in remembrance of Jesus Christ's death and sacrifice for our sins.
We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and to establish His eternal kingdom in a new earth.
Heaven is a holy and beautiful place where God is present. Christians will have eternal life in Heaven with God.
Sex is an intimate act which God intended to occur within the confines of marriage between a man and a woman. Sex outside of a marital relationship is adultery; adultery is a sin. Romantic relationships should be abstinate before marriage. Unmarried Christain men and women should live celibate lives. Same-sex romantic or marital relationships are against God's law and contrary to His order.
Life is both spiritual and physical. We believe our physical life begins at conception as the bible speaks of God knowing us and having a purpose for our lives before we are physically born. We believe we have a living spirit and that our spirit is eternal and lives beyond our physical death in heaven or hell. Throughout the bible, God affirms that ALL lives matter to Him, no matter one's age, gender, ability, or race. After all, He gave his only begotten son for us! As such, God condemns taking a person's life as evident in the 6th commandment.
Both men and women serve as leaders in the kingdom of God and can be called to any of the 5 Fold ministry positions. Leaders serve in humility, with a servant's heart and are ultimately overseen by God. They will be judged with more strictness.
